Bagels and lox are one of my absolute favorite breakfasts. It’s actually a tradition in my family to have this meal for breakfast on all major holidays. It’s such a delicious and healthy breakfast option. Recently, I started making this chopped lox cream cheese and LOVE it. I know the chopped bagel sandwiches went viral online a few months ago, but I am still locked in one this one.
This recipe varies from most that I have seen online, only because I use a lot more of the veggies, resulting in a less “creamy” consistency.
I typically make enough to last a whole week’s worth of breakfasts, which makes it a simple meal prep. This recipe usually makes enough for two people to have breakfast for 3 mornings, which is 6 breakfasts total.

Ingredients
- 1 block of cream cheese (8 oz)
- 8 oz of cold smoked salmon
- half jar of capers
- half of an English cucumber
- quarter of a red onion
- shot of olive oil
- salt and pepper
The Process
I typically choose a bit of a chaotic method to make this.
- Take a clean cutting board and a knife of your choice.
- Place all ingredients on the cutting board in a pile (full block of cream cheese and all), make sure to include the olive oil, it helps everything mix a bit better.
- Chop everything up until you reach your desired consistency.
- Once it’s done, place the mixture in a storage container and in the fridge until you’re ready to eat it. I recommend serving with a toasted everything bagel.
